MY NEW LITTLE FRIEND

It was a bright sunny day;
A wonderful morning in May ;
The day I saw him first;
He was quiet, taking rest.
As I neared him, he awoke, eyes intense;
His face was taut and slightly tense.
His eyes – too black, too wide.
That he fascinated me towards his side.
Into me, his innocent look penetrated;
As the radiant beams from his eyes fled.
He was ignorantly playing with yoyo
And silently ate some mono.
As I went close to him,
He ran on a whim.
I observed him calmly for sometime;
Then I thought of giving him a name.
Cheshire! I called him;
He leaped happily with vim.
He looked so cute, furry and cuddly,
And I sauntered close to him idly.
I held out my hand
With a salver full of rand;
He came to me slowly
And finished the dish wholly.
Then, I thought he liked me,
As he walked towards my knee.
He held out one of his paws;
I saw him having sharp claws.
I touched his furry head;
Showing me his love, he bowed.
I admired him all the whole,
For he abolished all my dole.
Yet, there was something in him I loved;
His white, thin whiskers when he mewed.
Yes, Cheshire, my new kittie friend;
The one in whom I truly confide.
